G. ELSINGHORST Stahl und Technik GmbH
All-round service, speed and flexibility are today in demand more than ever in the steel and metal industry. A capable and cost-efficient logistics chain plays a particularly decisive role in this respect.
After a four-year preparation and construction phase, G. ELSINGHORST Stahl und Technik GmbH put into operation its plan for a fully automatic plant at the location of Voerde on the Lower Rhine. The result was a consistent overall concept for one of the most modern plants of all for steel trading and construction. At the same time Elsinghorst made the change from traditional steel trading to a production business with a ratio of 80 % processing prior to delivery. In the ideal case there are only three points of contact between personnel and material all the way from delivery to loading. The employees are actively supported by four load-stabilized Scheffer single girder cranes with magnetic lifting equipment.
Project data at a glance:
60,000 m2 new company premises. Two new halls, which are 164 m long and 32 m wide each, with a total surface area of 10,500 m2. Four Scheffer load-stabilised magnet crane systems engineered in an angled-trolley design. Scheffer magnet lifting technology can transport rolled profiles with dimensions ranging from 80 to 1,000 mm using a single magnet solution. The load-bearing capacity of the crane systems is 15 t each, which is carried out with two trolleys.
